Dance In The Old Fashioned Way
pasted-graphic
Hello again,
Well another year has flown by and it’s time for a new CD this time with something a completely different a recording on a “Theatre Organ”.

When I was younger I was very fortunate have not 1 but 2 Theatre Organs in my hometown of Northampton, the first and probably the most famous of these being the “Wurlitzer” at “Turners Musical Merry Go Round” which I did play on a couple of occasions, this now a housing estate and I don’t know what happened to the organ.

The other less well known one was the “Compton 3 Manual 11 Rank” which was installed in the local “ABC Cinema”. This was the organ I played the most and eventually I became one of a team of resident organists playing Friday nights until the cinema came under new managment that didn’t like the organ.

I would like to take this opportunity to thanks Paul & Liz Arkwright of Allen Organs UK for not only allowing me the chance to revisit my youth and to record on this wonderful instrument the Q311SP, but also for making me so welcome at their headquarters in High Wycombe.

There is also a Concert CD recorded on the Allen called “At The Console”
Till next time,
Daniel Watt.
